Get To Know Us

Big Creek Cowboy Church - "Outriders For Christ"
Welcome to a place where you’re greeted with a hug and a handshake.  We are all family here and our only purpose is to worship and receive the Word of our Lord and Savior and serve Him faithfully, knowing that wherever we are gathered in His Name, He will be among us — Matthew 18:2

When it began:
Big Creek Cowboy Church’s birth was November, 2011 on a small ranch on Big Creek Road in Shepherd, Texas.  From there, it grew and the church moved to a shopping center in Shepherd.  In May, 2013,  a 4 1/2 acre lot was purchased in Coldspring, Texas on N. Butch Arthur Road.  The land, at one time, had been the old San Jacinto County Trail Rider’s Club, then a dance hall, then a hay barn!  With God leading us, we turned it into the church it is today.  We started out with almost nothing, but with God’s blessing, it grew little by little.  God provided what we needed, always in His time.  Here we are today …. We are still building His kingdom and will until he returns.    Thank you God, for blessing us with Big Creek Cowboy Church!

Tithing:

Although tithing is an important part of worshiping our Lord, we don’t pass an offering plate. There is a cowboy hat & a little wooden church provided for tithes and love offerings, so that you don’t miss out on your blessing by giving to the work of the Lord.
May God richly bless you for your support of this ministry.
Mal. 3:10, Lev. 27:30, 1 Cor. 9:6-9

Purpose of Big Creek Cowboy Church
The purpose of the church is to reach the lost and un-churched people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and provide a church home where they can become more like Him. We will strive to glorify God by fulfilling the great commandment - (Matthew 22:36-40) and the great commission (Matthew 28:18-20) in accordance with the following Biblical principles:

Worship
To participate in public worship services together and to maintain personal daily devotions (John 4:24).

Evangelism
To share the good news of Jesus Christ with as many people as possible in our community and beyond (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; II Peter 3:9).

Ministry / Missions
To serve unselfishly in Jesus Name, meeting the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of those in our church community and beyond (I Peter 4:10-11; Matthew 25:34-40; I Thessalonians 5:11; Galatians 5:13)

Discipleship
To help members develop towards full Christian maturity and train them for effective ministry; to promote personal spiritual growth and discipleship through Bible teaching (Ephesians 4:11-13; Matthew 18:20; II Timothy 2:12).

Fellowship
To encourage support and pray for each other as members of the family of God; To share our lives together (I John 1:7; Acts 2:44-47; Hebrews 10:23-25; Romans 15:5-7; John 13:34-35.

The church also seeks to benefit everyone in the San Jacinto County area and beyond by providing opportunities for spiritual, physical, intellectual, social and cultural development (Luke 2:52)

Statement of Faith:
We affirm the Holy Bible as the inspired Word of God and as the only basis for our beliefs.  We believe that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God and that nothing should be taken away or added to it.  Revelations 22:18-19

We believe there is only ONE God in three persons, God the Father, Jesus Christ, His Son, and The Holy Spirit.  All three are ONE, omnipotent, omniscient, ever present from the beginning and forever.   Psalms 139:1-13.
